The Mountain Ridge High School pom team has secured its third consecutive national title, winning first place in the game day category at the USA Spirit Nationals in Anaheim, California. The team also placed in multiple other routines, including third for varsity pom, junior varsity pom, and junior varsity jazz, and fourth for varsity jazz. Their season included two state championships under head coach McClain, a former Mountain Ridge pom member who took over as head coach two years ago. She was honored as the Deer Valley Unified School District Coach of the Month in February. McClain praised her senior leaders and highlighted the team’s signature game day routine, which blends traditional school spirit with competitive precision. Starting their season in August, the team practiced daily to perfect five routines for nationals, continuing a tradition of excellence and energy. Though competition season has ended, the team will keep performing at school events.
