In a game defined by resilience and momentum swings, Cactus wide receiver JuJu Stubblefield delivered a historic performance, setting a school record with 16 catches for 224 yards despite injuring his shoulder early on. Stubblefield’s connection with quarterback Antonio Casias fueled the Cobras’ offense, including an early 23-yard touchdown and a late 21-yard score that sealed the game.
After falling behind 30-14 due to explosive plays from O’Connor’s Quvohn Lewis and Bentley Corbin, the Cobras clawed their way back. Defensive leadership from Talon Staggs and key turnovers turned the tide, with Casias hitting Donta Sutton and Tristan Varga for crucial touchdowns. A late fumble recovery and Varga’s go-ahead score helped complete the 17-point comeback.
Head coach Brian Belles praised the team’s grit, especially Stubblefield’s toughness, as Cactus pulled off an emotional 34-30 victory marked by perseverance and team unity.
