Larry Eubanks, longtime Deer Valley High School baseball coach, passed away at age 71 after battling Stage 4 thyroid cancer. In tribute to his lasting impact, the Deer Valley Unified School District named the school’s baseball facility in his honor. During a special ceremony before a game against Paradise Honors, family and former players gathered on the field, with his son Tommy—also a coach—throwing out the first pitch. Eubanks’ career highlight came in 2006 when he led the Skyhawks to a 24–7 record and a state championship, with Tommy serving as an assistant coach. Following his diagnosis, the community raised over $25,000 for his treatment. After his death, the family established the Larry Eubanks Scholarship, awarding $1,500 to a deserving student, preserving his legacy of leadership and generosity.
